Beauty budget: why so much money is spent on cosmetics. How to save money on cosmetics, but do not deny yourself anything?

Tell me, how often do you look at the desired tube in the cosmetics store, which is famous for being a miracle cure, and think: “No, I can’t afford it”?

But meanwhile, if you carefully scrape around the guts, carefully plan everything and rationally approach the issue of buying cosmetics, it turns out that you can afford very, very much.

Accounting and control

Do not forget to check the general expiration date, but also the expiration date after opening (usually it is marked on the package in the form of an image of an open lid with a number indicating the number of months during which cosmetics must be used). For example, the total shelf life can be three years, and the shelf life after you first opened the lid is only six months.

A very useful approach can be borrowed from stylists.

Surely, you have read more than once that the formation of the image begins with the analysis of the wardrobe: you take out all the clothes, shoes, accessories from the closet, carefully sort them, get rid of the unnecessary and determine what is missing for an ideal wardrobe.

This practice is applicable for a dressing table, and for shelves in the bathroom. Surely many have five hair masks and four shampoos, donated by someone or bought in a shopping outburst, most of which you are not impressed with. Often we just do not have time to use everything, forget what we have, buy too much with the thought "what if". Many cosmetics have much more than can be applied to one average person, which means that we are dealing with frozen and wasted money: most likely, you will not have time to use all this before the expiration date, but something may just get you tired.

This is not a call for radical changes in life with one bar of soap, but healthy minimalism allows you to control spending and gives a pleasant sense of space.

Therefore, the best thing that can be advised is to ruthlessly clean the shelves in the bathroom and dresser in the next free minute, leaving the really necessary and favorite means. It’s better to give the rest to your friends, but rather expensive, but for some reason creams and shampoos that do not fit can be sold in special groups in social networks (and you really need to buy something with the proceeds).

Make it a rule to mark the date when you first used this product directly on the jar with a waterproof marker

A clear plan and informed shopping

Now that you have got rid of all that is superfluous, you can start a new shopping plan, in which there will be exclusively necessary funds. What - everyone determines for himself. Someone is focused on growing hair. To someone: well-groomed skin is important, but someone prefers to experiment with makeup.

As you know, a huge amount of cookies and chocolates are eaten: a) for the company; b) because it is sad and you want to cheer yourself up: c) because you want to switch or need a break during work.

The same thing often happens with the purchase of cosmetics: we buy a new lipstick or cream to cheer ourselves up, having run into the store on the way from work for company with a girlfriend.

Result: three new shine and several lipsticks that will be dispersed in different bags, half of which you will soon forget. Make it a rule: go to the store on purpose, with a detailed list.

To avoid such mistakes, try even to test inexpensive means before buying. Spending two unsuccessful lipsticks and one tint even in the middle price category is equivalent to spending on a tube of good cream that you could use with pleasure. Feel free to ask sellers for samplers. And in some stores you will even pour the funds you like into small jars.

Specialists - cheaper!

Strangely enough, the makeup artist and cosmetologist will help to save significantly. Yes, visits to good specialists cost money, but they will pay off with interest in the future: with a high degree of probability you will take with you lists of what you really need, as well as a lot of tricks and valuable recommendations. A sensual makeup artist will paint you with ten different shades of lipstick and save you from experiments in the style of "inexpensively buy, if anything - give it to mom." A good beautician will tell you which components in the composition should be avoided, and also dissuade from procedures and tools that you really are too early or just does not make sense to use.

Such specialists should be selected carefully, deliberately and better on the recommendation of those with whom you are personally acquainted.

In general, doing home bookkeeping is a very useful and fascinating thing: at least you know what inconspicuous little streams have flowed and where your salary has flowed, and at the maximum - you plan expenses for a long time. Bookkeeping can be used in a particular case, with decorative and care cosmetics, but it’s much more useful and interesting to immediately establish a “beauty budget”: plan for the long term (for example, for a year - why waste time on everything) all the necessary purchases related to your image ( this includes clothes, shoes and accessories), as well as the necessary procedures (visits to the hairdresser, makeup artist and dentist).

To do this, you can use a beautiful notebook-diary. Try to immediately remember and write down the maximum number of your plans: visits to the beautician, the wedding of your cousin (you need an outfit and hairstyle!), And teeth whitening. When you have a complete picture in front of you and you imagine the scale of expenses, it is much easier to plan.

This method has two major advantages: firstly, it will not come as a surprise to you that it turns out that it is time for a hygienic cleaning to the dentist, and you forgot to save money, and secondly, you can review and release financial assets based on your priorities.
