Soft oatmeal cookies - the basic principles of cooking

Oatmeal, whole or chopped oatmeal are suitable for making oatmeal cookies, and other types of flour, for example, wheat, are usually added to this. In addition, eggs, margarine or butter, soda or a baking powder are often present in recipes. You can knead the dough in milk, yogurt or whey, sour cream or kefir, add cottage cheese to it.

Oatmeal cookies are both sweet and savory. Additives decorating its taste and texture are nuts and dried fruits, chocolate and cocoa, honey, spices and spices, fresh chopped vegetables and fruits, even biscuits with bacon and cheese are baked.

On top of cookies it is possible to decorate with poppy seeds, sesame seeds or icing.

It is useful to know that many recipes for soft cookies in general can be turned into oatmeal cookies if you replace from one third to three quarters of the flour in the original recipe with oatmeal.

Recipe 1. Soft oatmeal cookies: classic with chocolate chips and hazelnuts Ingredients

Oat flakes - 1.5 cups;

· Natural milk chocolate - three quarters of the bar;

· Walnuts or hazelnuts - half a glass;

· Wheat flour - a glass;

Butter - 2/3 packs;

· Eggs - two pieces;

· Granulated sugar - a glass;

· Honey - 2 tablespoons;

Soda - 0.5 teaspoon;

· Salt - 1/3 teaspoon.

Cooking

· Crumble oatmeal in a blender;

Mash soft butter with sugar;

· Finely chop nuts and chocolate;

· Drive eggs into the butter, add honey and mix;

· Mix flour with oatmeal, salt and soda, and in small portions add to the already mixed ingredients, knead the dough;

· Add chocolate and nuts to the finished dough;

Set the dishes with the dough a quarter of an hour to the side;

· Next, form large balls and send them to bake in an oven preheated to 190 degrees for 16-22 minutes.

Recipe 2. Soft Oatmeal Cookies: Orange

Ingredients

· Corn flour and oat flour - 1/3 cup each;

· Wheat flour - a glass;

· Eggs - two pieces;

Butter - 2/3 packs;

· Orange zest - a tablespoon;

Vanilla sugar - a teaspoon;

Candied oranges and / or lemons - 3 tablespoons;

Sugar - 2/3 cup;

· Baking powder - a teaspoon.

Cooking

Beat eggs and sugar, add vanilla sugar, zest, butter, warmed to softness and salt in advance;

· Combine flour with baking powder and mix in small portions to other products;

· Cover the dishes with the dough with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes;

· Form cookies in the form of flattened small balls and bake them for 16-18 minutes in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees.

Recipe 3. Soft oatmeal cookies: with apple

Ingredients

· Wheat flour - a glass;

Oat flakes - a glass;

Yellow raisins - a quarter cup;

Sugar - 2/3 cup;

Bullseye;

Butter - half a pack;

· Baking powder - a teaspoon;

· Eggs - two pieces;

· Salt - 1/3 teaspoon.

Cooking

· Soft butter combine with sugar and eggs, add salt;

Crumble oatmeal in a blender;

· Add flour to other products in small portions, knead the dough;

Ingredients

· Wheat flour - 1/3 cup;

· 3 eggs;

· Butter - half a pack;

Oatmeal - two thirds of a glass;

Cane sugar - half a cup;

· Baking powder - a teaspoon.

Cooking

· Put the stewpan on the stove, melt the butter in it and remove the dishes from the heat, let cool;

· Add sugar and egg to the butter and mix;

· Baking powder combine with flour and gradually pour it to other products;

· Many people think that oatmeal cookies will be of better quality if, after kneading the dough, leave it to "rest" for a period of 10 to 60 minutes, and during this time, oatmeal, if it was taken in the form of flakes (even if ground), and not flour, absorbs moisture and swells, due to which cookies are better kept in shape, and baked evenly;

· One of the secrets of tenderness of oatmeal cookies is the sifting of wheat flour (if one is present in the recipe);

· The dough for any soft cookie should not be kneaded for too long, knead it exactly as much as you need to mix the ingredients;
